How does the free entitlement for 3 and 4 year olds work?
The childcare grant is available for all children from the term after their third birthday, pre-school age, and up to 15 hours per week can be claimed. As a provider registered with Cheshire County Council and Ofsted we are eligible to claim the grant on your behalf. As parents, you will need to complete and sign a parent contract form stating how many sessions you are claiming. The grant is claimed in advance for a full term, so any session increases mid term may be payable.
The minimum claim can be for 2.5 hours (one session). Claims can be split between two childcare settings. Please speak to the office for further advice.
In some cases funding is available for 2 year olds, please speak to the office and your local children’s centre to find out if you can claim this.
Can I use Childcare Vouchers?
Yes. The cost of your childcare can be taken out of your salary before the NI and Tax contributions are calculated. This is done through your employer registering on one of the many childcare voucher schemes. Your employer deducts your childcare figure from your salary and then forwards the amount for the childcare to the nominated voucher scheme.
Please let us know which voucher company you will be using and we will be able to give you any further details you may need to set up payments.
Is it ok to book extra sessions for my child?
Yes, as long as there is adequate staff and spaces available we will do our best to fit in any ad hoc sessions required. We cannot make permanent session changes mid-term however, we ask that permanent changes to pre school sessions be made on a half termly basis.
Where can I find your policies and procedures?
They are kept in the office, please ask and we will be happy for you to look through any of our policies and procedures. Within your welcome pack there will be copies of our safeguarding and uncollected child policies. We can also email you copies of all policies.

Water resistant and high factor sun cream, sun hat, wellies, spare clothes, nappies and wipes if required. To be kept in a labelled bag on their peg or in their tray.
How will I settle my child into pre school?
We can arrange settling in sessions so that your child can gradually become accustomed to the new routine and surroundings. If a child still has problems settling in we will discuss this with their parent/carers.
Do the pre-school children go on outings?
Yes, we will have small outings such as a walk to the park. We always require parental permission, there is a section on the parental contract to allow for these small trips. Larger day trips will have a separate permission form.
